Our Mission

Providence exists to uplift people by investing ourselves to create healthy community. We do this through partnership and stewardship.

Our tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit collaborates locally to create opportunities, food security and pioneer innovative solutions. We also partner globally developing lifetime livelihoods through micro-finance, helping to break cycles of poverty through the dignity of work.

Providence creates "Partnerships for Prosperity with a Purpose." For 25 years, we've generously sown best-practices in the field of poverty alleviation, creating jobs, not hand-outs, via micro-loans. These jobs lift families from poverty through the dignity of work.

Providence has also pioneered to develop "Providence Riverland Farm" in the Redding area. This regenerative, Agritourism Farm will fuel our micro-loans abroad while building local community and opening work opportunities for those needing support and food security in our own area. 

In the years to come, Providence is poised to be Your New Favorite Non-Profit because of its heartwarming human interest stories, Vacations with a Purpose, a music venue at the Riverland Farm complete with a kiddie train, the adventure corn maze, plus fresh locally grown foods sold in our own collaborative Farmer's Markets.

to Poverty

Poverty is more than a lack of income; it is a deprivation of food, shelter, healthcare, and literacy. Today, over 3 billion people survive on less than $2.00 a day, and in developing nations, half of all children under five suffer from malnutrition due to systemic instability and economic barriers.  Providence International works to break this cycle through targeted support and training. You will make a difference by joining our efforts at home and abroad.

Providence is breaking the cycles of poverty and dependency by creating job opportunities. Globally, we use micro-finance to help families build sustainable livelihoods and reach their potential. Domestically, we empower individuals to become productive, contributing members of in society through coaching, mentoring, job training, and helping with our regenerative Riverland Farm in Northern California.

By providing the essential combination of skills and opportunity, we help individuals achieve self-sufficiency so they can give back to their communities so this perpetuates.

How we’re achieving our goals.

  • Providence transforms lives and communities through finance.  Our awards and loans are based on character rather than collateral.  Our model boasts a 97% repayment rate with average six-month terms. These loans are matched then managed by international partners seasoned in job creation.  Savvy business coaches, funded via interest, interface with local entrepreneurs to maximize success.

  • Join a world-class team endorsed by U.S. Ambassador Tony Hall and Coach Tom Osborne. Through Providence International’s End Poverty Zone campaign, a single $100 "ticket" provides the resources to feed a family for a lifetime.

  • In partnership with local employers, social services, our city and our county, Riverland Farm is an exciting initiative in which we provide ex-offenders and recovery graduates a fresh start while spearheading agritourism and farmer’s markets. Through mentoring and character building, participants gain marketable skills in horticulture, landscape, food services, and construction, leading to job placement.

    Based in Northern California, Riverland Farm bundles U.S. producers, processors, and distributors to optimize markets for healthy food. By adapting to modern delivery systems while holding fast to regenerative practices, Providence International secures better margins, stronger supply chains and healthier outcomes for local agriculture.  Bolstering food security while profiting to sow toward the next harvest of jobs is our goal.
